导演兼摄影师杰德·汤姆·阿金莱米奴在2013年回到尼日利亚，拍摄了以父亲为主角的纪录片《独行农夫肖像》。影片拍摄过程中，父亲在尼日利亚另有家室的真相被发现，远在丹麦的母亲深受打击并申请离婚。本片既是新作也算此片的续作，导演从母亲1970年代初自丹麦远嫁尼日利亚开始追根逐源，抽丝剥茧地描绘出这一家两室、成员遍布欧非美三块大陆的跨国、跨族婚姻所产生的文化、生活等各方面的冲突。该片入选2021年柏林电影节展映单元。
