第二次世界大战接近尾声，美军在前线取得节节胜利，同盟国即将获得最终的优胜。达菲鸭（梅尔·布兰克 Mel Blanc 配音）坐在自家的沙发上阅读前线胜利的消息分外兴奋，他跳起来大唱庆祝歌曲。这时候电话铃声响起，对方似乎是征兵办公室的人，将要来给他送达征兵函。达菲鸭起初不以为意，当意识到自己可能要被带上战场时立刻吓得失魂落魄。未过多久，一名戴着眼镜、光头的矮个男子来到门前，递上了信函。达菲鸭花容失色，连忙用屋中的家具器皿堵住窗户和大门。他以为征兵办的人一定会不耐烦地走掉，可是光头男子十分执着，一定要把信送到达菲鸭的手中。 　　这只可怜的鸭子几近崩溃……
