今天是洁雅的生日，妹妹吉楠为她准备了惊喜生日派对，洁雅的父亲苏查也带着他的新女友回来为洁雅庆祝。但洁雅无法接受自己的父亲带别的女人回家，因为她心中只有已故母亲詹雅。洁雅和苏查大吵一架便伤心离开，却在路上和开车送女朋友茗柯回家的欧密发生了摩擦，两人第一次相遇留下非常不愉快的印象。 洁雅用手上的戒指打发了欧密后就开车走了，却被苏查的敌人追杀，情急之下跳进河里。刚好欧密开车经过目睹了这一切，他毫不犹豫地跳进河里将洁雅拖到岸上，还救了同时跳进河里救洁雅的年轻摄影师裴特。 欧密将洁雅救上来之后就离开了，留下裴特陪着洁雅。洁雅以为是裴特救了她，与其交谈发现有很多共同的喜好，所以洁雅对裴特有了更深的好感。

该剧根据同名泰剧改编，讲述了远飞集团的千金许诺（何瑞贤 饰）从小生长在父母溺爱中，从国外留学深造归来却震惊的发现自己原本幸福的家庭已经支离破碎，母亲被净身出户，从小寄养在自己家且没有血缘关系的哥哥沈嘉禾（樊治欣 饰）即将替代自己继承家业，而父亲的未婚妻竟然是沈嘉禾曾经扯不清的绯闻女友白夏，也是她昔日的宿敌。许诺看穿沈嘉禾的谋 划，为了夺回远飞，揭穿其真面目，她运筹帷幄，步步为营，诱惑沈嘉禾与她豪赌了一场“炽爱游戏”，自此掀开了两人相爱相杀的历程。
