Solemn and introverted, the boy is shown the ways of sensual pleasure by his father's mistress, but he falls in love with another young woman. Intending to marry the girl, the young man takes the relationship very seriously. His father, however, believes the boy should have a more carefree lifestyle and decides to intervene by seducing his own son's fiance. This action proves to be a tremendous mistake. Between 1950 and 1987 he was involved in the direcotrship and production of well over 40 films, directing and producing films such as Ayer fue primavera (1955) and Argentinísima and Argentinísima II in 1972 and 1973 respectively.

Frunze Dovlatyan (1927 - 1997) is one of the leading Armenian directors, he has started as actor in Armenian provincial theatres since 1941 and then Sundukyan Drama Theatre of Yerevan where he was awarded Stalin Premium (major award of that time) for the role of Hrair in the play "These Stars are Ours". After graduating the Directing Department of VGIK (master class of Sergei Gerasimov, he directed movies at Gorky Film Studio then at Mosfilm Studio. Since 1964 he was working at Haifilm Studio. His movie Barev, yes em! (1966) became a milestone and turning point in the history of the Armenian cinema. 　　The achievements of Frunze Dovlatyan and Henrik Malyan are outstanding during this period. "Hello, It is Me" and "Triangle" are two films shot by these directors that play an important role in the history of Armenian cinema. A contemporary theme underlies these films and the author's vision drastically turns towards the deep understanding of the secret of the contemporary personality, the "inner world" of the man and the problems of his presence in this world. "Hello, It is Me" is a film of wide scope about an Armenian physicist and the trials his generation experiences, the feelings of responsibility so characteristic of him, and how he cannot forget the burdens of his past, and about love.

You are never fully liberated from Auschwitz, 11 July 2016 　　Author: Red-125 from Upstate New York 　　The French movie "À la vie" was shown in the U.S. with the translated title "To Life (2014)." It was written and directed by Jean-Jacques Zilbermann. The film is a Post-Holocaust saga, although it opens with scenes in Auschwitz that are truly horrific. 　　Hélène (Julie Depardieu) and Lily (Johanna ter Steege) were friends in Auschwitz, and they managed to survive the death march from Auschwitz to Louslau together. A third friend, Rose (Suzanne Clément) was unable to walk, so they were forced to leave her behind. As it turned out, Rose survived until the liberation of Auschwitz. The three did not see each other again until 1962, when they come together for a reunion at a beachside resort in Northern France. 　　We learn early in the movie that Lily divorced her husband after the war, and is living as a "free soul," with no permanent partner. Hélène and Rose both married concentration camp survivors. 　　The plot of the film--based on the lives of three actual friends--revolves around their interactions during the reunion. No matter how much ice cream they eat, and how they display their new bathing suits, thoughts keep circling back to Auschwitz. 　　They quarrel about tiny details which they remember differently. They revive horrible memories. It's clear that the reunion will change their lives, but whether the change will be for the better or for the worse is an open question. 　　For reasons I don't understand, "To Life" caries a terrible IMDb rating of 6.1. Fortunately, we saw it as part of the excellent Rochester Jewish Film Festival. If we hadn't had "All-Event" tickets, we probably would have stayed home. This is a movie to be seen, not missed. Ignore the rating and seek it out. It's available on DVD, and it will work well on the small screen. See it!
