两个不幸的人因为偶然走在了一起，但命运有总是喜欢造弄人。少女永然（薜凯琪饰）需照顾患动脉炎的哥哥永丰(张国强饰)及被遗弃的侄女小悠，挑起照顾全家人重担的她，虽含辛茹苦却坚强乐观。一次偶然的相遇，他认识了青年卓勤（郭品超饰）。卓勤与永然有着相似的悲惨命运和不屈的精神，虽然他终日以盗窃为生，但其善良和坚强深深地吸引了永然。两个年轻人就这样走到了一起，相互鼓励、相互温暖，但美好的日子好象总是很短暂，卓勤因拒绝江湖大佬富哥（彭敬慈饰）而遭到黑道的追杀，而永然也被证实遗传了家族的不治之症……，不过他们勇敢地面对着这不幸的一切，真实的命运。
