This is the first documentary film on the International College of Philosophy (Collège 　　international de Philosophie: CIPH), founded by, among others, Jacques Derrida and 　　François Châtelet in 1983 in Paris. The film consists of interviews with former presidents 　　Michel Deguy, François Noudelmann and Bruno Clément, current vice-president Boyan 　　Manchev, and with former and current program directors Catherine Malabou, Francisco 　　Naishtat and Gisèle Berkman. The aim of this film is to consider the possibilities of the 　　humanities in general and philosophy in particular under the current conditions of global 　　capitalism. «Daniel Schmid - Le chat qui pense» documents the eventful life and cinematic legacy of an exceptional Swiss film and opera director. It spans the filmmaker's formative childhood in a Belle Epoque hotel in the Swiss Alps; follows his escape to a turbulent 1960s Berlin, his love of cinema, and his encounters with Rainer Werner Fassbinder. The film travels with Schmid through time and around his world: a world situated between reality and fiction.

在一个宁静的夜晚，女主人和男主人正端坐在客厅读书看报。狡猾的汤姆趁主人未留意，偷偷钻进厨房，打开冰箱门端出烤鸡大快朵颐。就在此时，那主人突然起身来到厨房，当他打开冰箱门后发现被啃过的烤鸡大为震惊。他怀疑不是猫就是狗干了这等勾当。生怕遭到处罚的汤姆想出妙计，用面包蘸上墨水伪装成狗爪子印按在房间各个角落，并将吃剩下的烤鸡塞到正睡觉的史派克的怀中。他太专心干这样的事，却没发现他的行径早被杰瑞用相机拍了下来。 　　不久，恼怒的主人将史派克扔出门外。而杰瑞也将照片洗了出来，洋洋得意的汤姆终于迎来手忙脚乱的时刻……
