Zhai doesn’t know where Mexico is or what language is spoken there and even if say goodbye to her family and her little daughter LEI is very difficult, Zhai accepts the offer to try her chances across the ocean and leaves home accompanied by Ling. 　　Zhai’s suitcase is almost empty of clothes but filled with dreams. She is eager to get to her Eldorado, but a very different reality waits for her in that foreign land. In Mexico’s Coach Station she is separated from Ling and she is sent to live in another factory in the middle of nowhere. There, her boss CHANG will take her papers, she will be locked in a dirty room with other workers. 　　In the factory chinese workers are separated from the mexicans and any contact with them will lead to a fine. Getting sick or pregnant is also forbidden. Zhai is forced to work more than in China and is allowed to go to the town very rarely and always in small groups under the supervision of SERGIO. Zhai will experience fear, racism, but also true friendship and support with PENG and a weird feeling provoked by JUAN, a mexican indigenous, younger than her who doesn’t look at her like the others does. He is a bit of hope in her sordid reality.

After a couple of days, she decides to go to her apartment for some paperwork but here she discovers that Maria was about to adopt a Vietnamese girl named Thi Mai. Carmen then decides to go to Vietnam with her friends Elvira and Rosa, although none of the three has ever left Spain in their life. During the search for Thi Mai, they will have the opportunity to experience crazy and hilarious situations caused by cultural differences.
