立足“历史上一位成功家长”曾国藩家传八代、家风不坠的史实，以曾国藩修身治家、清廉传家为主线，以曾国藩家书为载体，讲述中国优秀传统文化熏陶下的守正传家故事。上篇《修身》讲述曾国藩在意自修、并力劝家人在修身功夫中奠定家族长盛根基的故事，打开其中沉淀的中华优秀传统文化中做人的道理，也为当代人特别是年轻人的修养心性提供了可品读的范例。下篇《齐家》聚集曾国藩与家族中的长辈、兄弟、女眷、子侄、身边人等几组复杂关系，讲述曾国藩家风中极富生存哲理、同时又颇有人情温度的治家侧面。他擅于协调多重角色与多重关系，在如何教育亲属勤俭、孝悌、惠众等方面，留下了极有时代价值的点滴记忆。

SYNOPSIS 　　Sung-tae is able to graduate from med school with the aid of his girlfriend Jin-sook and he begins working as a neurosurgeon at the hospital she works at. They promise to marry and she even becomes pregnant. But when he meets the hospital director's daughter Jung-ah, he decides to eliminate Jin-sook who stands in the way of his success. He poisons her and dumps her paralyzed body in the pond behind the hospital. From then on, the spirit of Jin-sook haunts him every night. The police begin to investigate her death for possible foul play and although he reconfirms her death, he is haunted by her every night. He soon discovers that the apparition of Jin-sook was orchestrated by her aunt who wants to take revenge for her niece. At that point nobody realized the incredible impact Gauguin's work was to have on modern art. 　　Art critic and broadcaster Waldemar Januszczak has written and directed this examination of a man who was not only a great painter but sculptor, wood carver, musician, print maker, journalist and ceramicist. As well as telling the remarkable story of Gauguin's life, Januszczak also celebrates Gauguin's achievements and examines the various accusations of sexual misconduct, familial neglect and racism that are frequently made against him. 　　The film contains many of Gauguin's masterpieces and includes paintings recently put on show at the Hermitage in St Petersburg which haven't been seen in public since their disappearance during World War II.
