Once complete, this hyper-efficient, 25 km artery will connect Rome’s outskirts to the city center. Now, after almost two decades of construction in the suburbs, Line C has entered the downtown core. That’s where the real challenges lie. 　　Building a metro in any city is never easy. But this is Rome. It comes with 3,000 years of extraordinary urban development, with each generation built on top of the previous one.
