本动画片根据意大利童话故事《小鹅》改编。鹅女士和姐妹们赶路的途中欲临盆，由于路途遥远，姐妹们只能把她丢下。鹅女士在陌生地产下蛋宝宝去找寻食物，返回时发现她出发前埋在树叶下的蛋宝宝不翼而飞，伤心不已时，她结识松鼠妈妈和小松鼠，得知她的蛋宝宝是被坏蛋狐狸偷去的，并在它们的劝说下请镇上的木匠建了一所漂亮的红房子，有了新家。不久，鹅女士产下四只性情各异的小鹅，狐狸一心想把这些宝宝和鹅女士吃进自己肚子，为此伪装成善良的好邻居，但聪明的鹅女士和鹅宝宝一次也没上当，最终，在松鼠妈妈和小松鼠的帮助下，鹅女士和她的孩子们将狐狸生擒。
