Johan Knut Harju (1910-1976) was a self-taught writer and historian, but also a homeless alcoholic. Harju had a unique talent to document his and his peers’ lives with a personal voice that invites the person in and see the world from his point of view. Harju collected his stories for you, a future person, so that the people living under the bridges would not be forgotten. The virtual reality experience combines the Helsinki City Museum photo archives, recordings of Harju’s voice, 360 degrees footage inside a historical tram with animation that is inspired by Harju’s drawing style, into an experience that allows the audience to have a moment with Harju in 1960’s Helsinki. DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT What happens to the stories of people living in the shadows of history? Harju preserved a different perspective to the history of my own hometown. This virtual reality experience gives Harju a space to tell his story and lets the audience have a moment inside his memories. We are given access to a subjective viewpoint, which hopes to question what is considered worthy of historical annals.

Hendrik and Willi are the owners and crew of a canal barge. They travel up and down the Havel River, have girlfriends here and there, and dream of a “solid” life. One evening they observe a young girl, Anna, who is apparently about to jump off a bridge. They both run to save her, but are “disappointed” to find out that she only threw a ten mark note into the river in hopes of ridding herself of a bad memory. Anna is persuaded to travel back to Berlin as a “passenger” with them, and the two friends soon fall in love with her. After an insulting comment from Willi, Anna leaves the boat, and the two men make an agreement with one another: whoever wins Anna back must forfeit his claim to the barge. Feeling sure of himself, Willi goes on land and looks after her. However, he soon realizes that she is in love with Hendrik, and is honest enough to confess this realization to his friend. But his friendship with Hendrik is more important to him than their agreement, and so the three start a new life on board the barge, all together.

Stellar cast confirmed for major new Steven Moffat drama Inside Man, for BBC One and Netflix David Tennant (Des; Staged; Doctor Who), Dolly Wells (The Pursuit Of Love; Dracula; Can You Ever Forgive Me?) and Lydia West (It’s A Sin; Years And Years; Dracula) will lead the cast of a major new thriller from BAFTA and Emmy award-winning writer Steven Moffat (Dracula, Sherlock, Doctor Who), alongside Stanley Tucci (Feud; The King’s Man; Spotlight) in the title role of the Inside Man. Produced by Hartswood Films for BBC One and Netflix, it will be directed by Paul McGuigan (Sherlock; Dracula; Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool).
