父亲是有名的钢琴家，从小便在熏陶与专业的钢琴教育中成长的雨宫修平，突然转校到了乡下，遇见了同班同学一濑海。下课后，海带着修平来到森林里，那里有一架被丢弃的钢琴。修平在那架钢琴上完全弹奏不出任何声音，而海却能弹奏出《森林之曲》。修平被海那自由奔放的演奏所感动，两人因对钢琴的喜爱而渐渐成为了好朋友。
