TV版中闪电骑士V3的诞生开始，男主角陈英杰（相当于原版的风见志郎）的家人遭到邪恶组织“迪斯魔龙”（即原版中的“迪斯特龙”）杀害后，他在身受重伤垂死之际被骑士1号与2号改造为V3，到闪电骑士四号（即原版的骑士人，但与原版不同的是改为由女性变身）的登场，以及最终与迪斯魔龙干部G博士的对决。 　　1980年代，台湾年代影视趁著《闪电五骑士》重映之势，曾发行过家庭用贩售录像带（但原本16：9的银幕比例变成4：3，因此左右两侧的画面被裁去不少）。本片在欧洲地区分别有片名为《Frankensteins Kung-Fu Monster》，及《Kung Fu Riders》的PAL规格德语版录像带发行，但版本片长不一，各为65～75分钟不等的删节版。
