Few are aware that even before Huszárik’s Elegy, a similar poetic film was made in Balázs Béla Studio, in which János Tóth was also the cinematographer. This pioneering work was Fascination, the product of István Bácskai Lauró who later became known for his popular movies. Imagery of the heavy physical labour conducted in a steelworks contrasted with creative activity lends a tension to the structure, but the appearance of Miklós Mészöly also serves to make the film interesting for the modern viewer
