Christmas 1944. Soviet soldiers invade Hungary and drag every young woman with German origins away from a small village and transport them to a Soviet labor camp where they are forced to work in the coal mines under inhuman conditions. This is where Irén, one of the Hungarian women, meets Rajmund who decides to teach her how to survive. While she is determined to return home to her little daughter and family, history and fate have a different plan: Irén and Rajmund fall in love.

Adama and Boubacar, two elders from the community, deliver a touching message that interweaves nostalgia and doubt, with a look at the importance of respecting nature and protecting the land.

ストリートアーティストになるのを夢見て、ロサンゼルスの大学でアートを専攻する為に日本から留学した彩永（さえ）。大学のクラスの勉強や実習、週末は友人とクラブに踊りに行くなど、楽しく充実した生活を送っている。ところがある日、不運な事故に巻き込まれ、大学の学費を払うのが困難な状況に陥ってしまう。弁護士からは大学に通い続ける以外は、アメリカに合法で滞在することは出来ないと言われる。 　　アメリカで一人前になることを決意して渡米した彩永は、この国に出来るだけ留まることを決意する。学費が払えないため、やむを得ず大学を中退し、仕事を探し始める彩永。就労ビザを所持していない彩永は、普通の仕事に就くことができず、現金払いの仕事、レストランのウエイトレスと皿洗い、ペンキ塗りなど、様々な仕事を転々とする日々を過ごしていく。 　　彩永の貯金も底を尽き、家賃、食費を払うのも厳しい状況になり、自分の所持品などを質屋に売り始める。そして友人から聞いた、高給ではあるが違法の仕事に関わっていくこととなる。　果たして彩永はアメリカという地で生き残り、ストリートアーティストになるという夢を叶えることが出来るのであろうか？

With a title taken from a Latin poem by Virgil, Sulev Keedus directed this Estonian drama about a youth, Maecenas (Mait Merekulski), who is sent from the Russian mainland to a remote Estonian island where the only resident is an old man, Jakub (Evald Aavik), whose memories surface in flashbacks, revealing his past as a missionary collecting Zulu songs.
