Gjino reluctantly obeys, but Marigo, who loves another, tries various devious methods to free herself from this bizaare marriage agreement. 　　'A Tale from the Past' is an excellent movie. There is some history in a comedy regarding ethnology. The time when the film was made, Albania was under communist regime and the equipment was of a low quality, so the visuals might not coincide with solid European or American standards. However, actors are perfect, and so does the story. Andon Zako – Cajupi is one the best humorists of Albanian Renaissance and he knew what to write about in his comedy. 　　Today's Albanian family has changed a lot, but at that time (18/19th century) mentality caused many disorders in the society. The priest was not the appropriate man for the church as he always kept his eyes on village's women, whereas men had to deal with long and senseless conversations, without working. I think that the movie acquaint very well the position of the woman in 18/19th century society. She had to work in the fields, wash the house, care about the children and what's the most important – she kept the family alive. But decisions were always done by the men, whose favourite job was drinking coffee or grape brandy. The marriage of a girl against her will to an unknown gets the most wanted punch in the movie.

1932年淞沪抗战期间，化名陶兰的日特策划毁灭中共地下党小组，清洗助战抗日的上海帮会排会。潜伏在排会的地下党员沈放死里逃生，接洽新的党组织烽火小组…

三十年代的上海，孤儿院长大的冯一伦在一次偶然的机会获得了一份记者的职业，由于被老板安排在影视版面，因此他与当时的女演员许莱依结下了不解之缘，在发展事业的过程中他受到了名义上的巡捕房探长，实为具有积极思想的进步青年黎若义的影响，从一名单纯的娱记，变成了揭露当时社会黑暗和丑陋，力求还大众事实原貌的记者，也因此发现了自己的身世之谜，当他知道自己的父亲就曾因为为了工人们的利益向反动政府挑战而惨遭迫害死于非命后，毅然做出了和当年父亲一样的选择，秘密配合黎若义，完成了破坏日本侵略者计划的行动，也因此获得了许莱依的青睐。俩人最终选择随上海的进步青年一同前往延安，凭借坚韧不拔的毅力投身到解放战斗中去，留下令后人津津乐道的传奇人生故事。
