Der Filmemacher Christoph Rüter erinnert sich an seinen philosophischen Lehrer Hans Blumenberg (1920-1996) und begibt sich mit zwei ehemaligen Kommilitonen auf eine Reise quer durch Deutschland, um auf den biografischen Spuren des Hochschullehrers die Faszination seines Denkens nachvollziehbar zu machen. Das Road Movie bleibt allerdings nicht beim Anekdotischen stehen, sondern unternimmt seriöse Versuche, Grundbegriffe von Blumenbergs Denken zu skizzieren.
