印度西部，距离孟买约300公里的马勒冈，以两样东西著称：贫穷和马莱坞（Mollywood）。所谓马莱坞，就是指在当地制作的低成本电影。如今马莱坞深受观众欢迎，大有和孟买的宝莱坞分庭抗礼的气势。 　　本片描写的是马勒冈的几位影迷，在既无资金和器械、又无技术和经验的情况下，凭着别出心裁的创意，和对电影制作的热情，土法上马，因陋就简，依靠最简陋的工具，使用最原始的手法，完全手工制作好莱坞名作-“超人”的本地版的爆笑经过。 　　本片是导演法伊扎的第一部长篇纪录片。2007年，NHK等 3大亚洲公共媒体，设立了旨在推进亚洲纪录片发展的“亚洲公开提案会议”（中文名称亚洲预售活动），经过评选，从130部亚洲各国的纪录片制作计划中，挑选出包括本片在内的三部纪录片，作为第一届入选获得制作援助的作品。经过两个月多月的拍摄后，法伊扎从230小时的映像中，剪辑出52分钟，于2008年11月，参加罗马亚洲电影节，一举夺得最佳纪录片奖。
