Alastair Sooke explores the mysterious appeal of unfinished works of art. From Dickens's unfinished The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Jane Austen's Sanditon to Coleridge's Kubla Khan, he talks to those who have attempted to finish these literary enigmas and those who believe that any such task is impossible. 　　In a film that picks through literature's leftovers, Sooke explores the moral dilemmas as well as the commercial opportunities finishing presents. The unique film set within a Karaja village in Brazil's Mato Grosso, Jim Jarmusch listens while Sam Fuller describes the 1950's "Tigrero" movie that he was unable to make. It also profiles the Karaja people. The non-film "Tigrero" had a fascinating history. The name was purchased off a novel by 20th Century Fox by Darryl F. Zanuck. Screen writer Fuller was sent to Brazil to come up with the story. There between two jungle rivers, he meets the Karajas who allow him to film their ceremonies and their village. Upon returning, he wrote a blockbuster film which would have starred John Wayne, Tyrone Power, and Ava Gardner. Because it was to be filmed in the dangerous jungle, Fox nixed the project. A lot of this movie focuses on Jarmusch interacting with the natives. The two also discuss Fuller's career and religion. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

埋伏在车厢各个角落的日本杀手对火车车厢内坐着旅欧科学家蓝之冰一家三口觊觎已久，藏匿多时的新四军小分队保护蓝之冰一家。蓝之冰告诫蓝天谨记国仇家恨。江城城门，进城的群众接受排查。徐林、大头在保安队的帮助下摆脱鬼子。欲为刁老财成一桩桃色买卖，刁老财尝鲜未果，恼羞成怒。江城洪门老大尹三走进茗月茶楼，三位打手挟来俩坏，尹三当众命人剁下大坏手指，却又叫来江城医院的龙雪医生为其医治。日军宪兵队长高桥在接到影佐将军的急电后，召开紧急会议，尹三也匆匆赶来。原来，蓝之冰一家将在四十五分钟后抵达江城火车站。高桥计划即刻前往江城火车站将三人截杀，尹三认为既然是科学家就应当留下活口，日后方能为皇军效力。一时间黑云压城，徐林、大头颇感不妙，尾随日军来到车站。列车缓缓驶入站台，众人屏息。徐林开枪警示，分队队长嗅到杀机。恶战一触即发。队长牺牲前趁乱将蓝天托付给了徐林，两人逃脱。剩余的新四军却全军覆没，蓝之冰夫妇被擒。

1941年，旅欧数学家蓝之冰、曾洁茹夫妇破译了日军电报密码，携独子蓝天回国投奔新四军，谁知情报泄露，刚到江城，日寇设下埋伏，蓝氏夫妇被捕，以身殉国…

Discovered after the war, the unfinished work, with no soundtrack, quickly became a resource for historians seeking an authentic record, despite its elaborate propagandistic construction. The later discovery of a long-missing reel complicated earlier readings, showing the manipulations of camera crews in these "everyday" scenes. Well-heeled Jews attending elegant dinners and theatricals (while callously stepping over the dead bodies of compatriots) now appeared as unwilling, but complicit, actors, alternately fearful and in denial of their looming fate.
