Loris is twenty years old, naive and in deep need for affection. He is in his room, waiting for someone he doesn’t know. A HIV-positive man he met online is willing to transmit his disease to him. The virus becomes a powerful ally for Loris to gain a much desired symbiosis in his relationship with Valerio - his HIV-positive boyfriend.

Loriot, whose real name was Bernhard-Viktor Christoph-Carl von Bülow, or Vicco von Bülow for short (1923-2011), is considered to have been the greatest and most versatile German comedian of the twentieth century. From 1976 to 1978, Radio Bremen commissioned his six-part television series “Loriot”, in which live action skits alternated with short animated sketches. The series is believed to be the highpoint of Loriot’s television work and was to establish his cult status; it has long been an integral part of German cultural heritage. In an interview with Spiegel magazine, Loriot once said: “Everything I find funny stems from crumbling communication and from talking past each other”. Parading this miscommunication before us in scenes that feature married couples, families and bourgeois society, he lays bare the absurdity of our everyday lives determined by rules and norms. Daughters Bettina and Susanne von Bülow and director Peter Geyer are marking the centenary of Loriot’s birth with this presentation of Loriots große Trickfilmrevue, for which 31 of his best-loved animations originally made for television between 1967 and 1993 have been carefully redrawn (and some coloured for the first time) to match Loriot’s style and transferred to a cinema format in 4K.

Caleidoscope of documentary-like scenes and re-enacted episodes of a day in the life of a large port town - Lisbon, from the old district around Saint George's Castle down to the docks and the 'Sagres' on the Tagus river, to the new commercial districts. 　　...with the sun bathing the city, and marking the rhythm of its citizens, from the lowest, harsh menial workers to the middle class professions which were emerging between the two World Wars. 　　The film chronicles a day in the life of Lisbon, from dawn to dusk, and social episodes from birth to death... The episodes vary from the dramatic to the humoristic, and many feature scenes or city places that are not easily seen. One extended segment deals with the Lisbon dockyards, and the sailors work aboard the corvette ship 'Sagres'. 　　Though Portuguese are a peaceful people, the director did not omit from his detailed account of daily events a prize fight in a back alley between two men for the entertainment and illegal betting of others, and a shouting abuse, hair-pulling cat-fight between two fisher-wives - a profession that no longer exists but that fitted the need to bring fresh fish to be sold across town, from door-to-door.
