Besides Rob, Eddie, who served in Bosnia, and Cliff, who returned from Malaysia a broken man in 1951, provide insight into what post-traumatic stress disorder really means. In candid interviews, they are prepared to relive their toughest moments during and after the wars they served in. 　　Director Brian Hill films the men in an unembellished manner, intentionally placing them against a backdrop of archive footage and their current everyday reality, in which they still seem isolated. Poet Simon Armitage wrote a series of poems based on their deeply emotional accounts, and the men recite these as they look straight into the camera. La Garza, its middle-aged owner, hires the young man as handy man, but soon he takes the place of the administrator, who is also La Garza's lover. 　　One of the ten best Venezuelan movies of all the time. This is the best Venezuelan film of all times and one of the best Latin American movies ever, it explains the social and moral reality of a bunch of people trying to survive in this political corrupted south American country in the 70's decade."El Pez Que Fuma" has an awesome story so it keeps the audience focused on the movie from start to end. The characters are just great since they are played for excellent actors ( Miguel Landa, Orlando Urdaneta), who after the popularity of the movie became a big great reference of the Venezuelan Film history. I definitely think this is the best work that a Venezuelan film maker could have ever done.
