Based upon the book of the same name by Nadine Khapsalis, Hollywhore is a modern, gritty exploration into the world's oldest profession set against the backdrops of Hollywood and Eastern Europe.

冢本晋也在《野火》之后，再度深入挖掘日本战败时期的故事。他借助男孩的足迹与视角，串联起两个带有伤痛印记的短篇故事。第一个故事里，有个女人守着空空如也的小酒屋，一个士兵常来找她，只为满足最原始的生理需求，还总说明天会带钱来。独来独往的男孩让她有了片刻对家庭的向往。第二个故事中，一名退伍士兵踏上一段路程去完成一个任务，男孩一路相伴，目睹他手臂残废、身心俱疲。三个成年人都在苦苦挣扎，不知能否走出战争的阴影，而男孩却默默地四处寻找活子，最后找到了一把枪。冢本晋也以简明直接的叙事方式，在“豚与军舰”尚未到来之际，洞察人们心底那尚存的微弱希望之火。

邻埠高级长官荣先生刚结束了对香港的访问即将离开，然而在机场，突然出现杀手行刺荣先生。荣先生身中三枪生命垂危，张志诚警司将逃跑时坠楼的女杀手逮捕。随后此案被交给总督察姚天明负责，坠楼的女杀手北条真理短暂失忆，不能提供任何线索，而姚天明的家人却被一队由“奥多桑”带到香港的国际恐怖分子劫持，因担心儿子安危，姚天明只得暗中服从恐怖分子，假意将北条真理杀死，而实际却带走了北条，希望从她处得到恐怖分子的真实身份并解救自己的儿子。警方对姚天明的“背叛”反应迅速，张警司通缉姚和北条二人。原来北条从小被奥多桑拐走收养，并培养成冷血杀手，这次行刺行动中，北条只不过是阵前的烟雾，真正的幕后杀手另有他人……
