剧情简介：变形金刚15周年纪念作品，从本作开始剧情完全开始走向独立，描述汽车人与原始兽在地球上展开能源争夺战的一部轻喜剧作品。 　　本片原为日本的CARROBOT系列，日本在1999年前播完了日产的BW2和BWNEO以及美版的全部五十二集正宗的BW后，没有直接引进BM（也就是猛兽侠）取而代之的是自己制作了一部回到了两派以争夺能量为主题的全新动画片——CARROBOT，可能是考虑到了再继续使用动物为原型将失去卖点后，日本的TAKARA公司决心让汽车等交通工具再度成为玩具的主角。
