晴朗明媚的一天，火车技师米奇（沃尔特·迪斯尼 Walt Disney 配音）驾驶着蒸汽小货车倒推行进。火车头唱着欢快的歌曲，米奇则伴着愉快的节拍检查火车的各个部件。等到车头和车箱对接后，米奇跳下火车，唱起了自豪的歌，随后给火车头喂食（煤炭），米奇则坐在车站门口吃起意大利面。这时候，美丽的米妮（玛西丽特·加纳 Marcellite Garner 配音）提着小提琴一蹦一跳来到车站。米奇邀请米妮演奏小提琴，米妮欣然应允，拉起了德彪西的经典名曲，米奇随之起舞。 　　休息结束，这对情投意合的小老鼠登上火车，开始了经典的旅行……
