本动画片改编自安徒生童话故事《养猪王子》。 　　英俊的王子虽然贫寒，却有许多倾慕者，但他独爱邻国的公主。邻国的公主骄傲蛮横，身边从来不缺玩伴，却老觉得生活无聊。一天，王子带着精心准备的礼物去向公主求婚，公主看过礼物后将王子拒之门外，王子不甘心，化身猪倌留在了王宫。后来，“猪倌”发明了好玩的玩意，公主很想得到，便让宫女打听交换条件，宫女回报“猪倌”要公主的香吻，公主答应。公主亲吻“猪倌”时，被国王瞧见，她被赶出了王宫。出宫后，公主抱怨早知如此还不如嫁给王子，王子将她看清，换上王子装离她而去。
