俳優・玉木宏を語る時、イケメンという言葉ではあまりにも収まりが悪い。表裏のないその物腰には、正直想像を裏切られた。ほとんど密着取材を受けてこなかったという彼が今回、俳優だけではない"45歳の今"をカメラに見せる。 　　その経歴は華々しい。映画『ウォーターボーイズ』で脚光を浴び、ドラマ『のだめカンタービレ』で大ブレイク。その後もドラマや映画、CMなど数多の作品に出演し、NHK連続テレビ小説「あさが来た」ではヒロインの夫役を好演。「働く女性を支える男性の理想像」アンケートでも1位に選ばれた。最近では「極主夫道」や「ゴールデンカムイ」などイメージを覆すような役柄にも挑戦。「常にイメージを変えたい」という言葉通り、シリアスな役からコミカルな役まで、どんなものでも深く演じ分けるその力量を見せ続けている。 　　だが取材期間中、たびたび俳優とは別の顔を覗かせた。人気グループケツメイシの楽曲「GENKI DESUKA?」を使用し、大阪を応援するプロモーションビデオの監督を務め、撮影だけでなく企画から編集まで担当。制作過程では演者やスタッフとコミュニケーションを図りながら細やかに指示を出す。5年前に始め、今やルーティーンでもあるブラジリアン柔術に汗を流す姿や、映画「ウォーターボーイズ」で青春を共にした仲間との食事会で見せる楽しげな様子など、重層的な人間味が解き明かされる。 　　そんな玉木がどうしても訪れたいと語った場所。かつて祖父が暮らし、自身のルーツでもある隠岐諸島・西ノ島での写真撮影にも密着。「おじいちゃんがいなければ、自分もこの場所にはいない。美しいこの島を知ってもらいたい」と自らのカメラで写し取った風景には、未来に繋いでいきたい切実な想いが込められる。 　　玉木宏の今までとこれからを巡る旅―

After Japan's defeat in WWII, "Pandora no hako" follows a young man named Risuke (Shota Sometani) who has contracted tuberculosis. He travels to the countryside to a unique nursing facility to receive treatment for his disease. At the sanatorium all the patients and nurses go by nicknames and Risuke decides to reinvent himself as Hibari. During his stay, Hibari develops realationships with other patients and nurses. After Hibari's friend Tsuikushi (Yosuke Kubozuka) gets discharged from the nursing facility, Hibari writes to him about his relationships with Dakesang (Mieko Kawakami) the chief nurse and Mabo (Riisa Naka) another nurse that is bright and seems to like him.
