玛丽王后的电影在国内最有名的大概是索菲亚·科波拉拍的2006版，其次瑙玛·希拉主演的1938版也有一定名气，而让·德拉努瓦拍的这一版无论是国内还是国外都鲜有人知， 但这一版本有诸多优点，十分值得一看。首先，这一版本是法国人拍的，符合历史人物原本的身份背景，其次，这一版本总体来说要更为符合历史，本片中大量台词出自历史资料，十分还原，法国历史学家Evelyne Lever称赞本版本的玛丽王后的形象相较06和38版更为接近历史上真实的王后，另外，本片的摄影和服装都可圈可点，修复后的特艺彩画面配上实景拍摄的自然光非常惊艳，本片有诸多场景拍摄得十分不错，像是审判的场景与旧版画上画得相似度颇高，最后断头台的场景则拍摄得十分巧妙而感人。当然，本片也不乏一些缺点，比如玛丽与费森的爱情故事所占比例太重，省略了一些重要的历史人物和事件，以至于有人认为本片应该改名为“玛丽与费森”，同时，为了增加费森的存在感，编剧虚构了一些情节，让他出现在了他本不该出现的场合，另外，尽管米歇尔·摩根在影片后半段演得非常传神，与角色十分契合，但出演本片时摩根已经三十多岁，而影片开头玛丽只有十五岁，摩根与之相比显得太老了，但无论如何，本片仍是一部十分不错的玛丽王后传记。
