梁家辉和钟镇涛绎演的卧底为了追查逃犯任达华，一个进到刘嘉玲（逃犯前女友）的隔壁，一个使诈进到刘嘉玲家中。在此过程中，钟与刘发生了感情，而梁又与房主的前女友叶玉卿发生感情，但其实刘与叶的真是身份是白玫瑰和黑玫瑰，是敌对已久的仇敌。但最后四人还是联手消灭了大坏蛋麦基，大团圆结局。
