泰国女人阿诺住在芭堤雅，她的妹妹阿妮在一件低级的日式酒吧工作，姐妹二人为了争夺男友吵架，后来妹妹因意外身亡，她为了忘记伤痛离开了住处。日本男人健二是个住在曼谷的日籍图书管理员，他错手杀了害死他哥哥的黑社会，为了摆脱黑社会的报复，他被迫离开了自己住的地方。阿诺和健二在逃亡的路上相遇了，他们觉得彼此相依为命才能活下去。阿诺是个性格急躁的人而健二做事却很稳重，两人言语不同只能靠英语单词沟通，所以阿诺决定靠录音带学日文，而健二却不想学习泰文。阿诺试图用寿司与健二交流，但她没想到健二却说他对鱼敏感，她邀请他去卡拉ＯＫ唱歌，他却说不会唱歌，阿诺意识到健二不像那些她妹妹服待过那些日本男人。在这样交流困难的境况下，他们之间却产生了爱情的萌芽。
