The Doctors Revisited was a series of documentaries produced and broadcast by BBC America to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. One documentary was broadcast every month, each focusing on a different incarnation of the Doctor. The series began in January with a First Doctor documentary and proceeded chronologically through the Doctors until it culminated with an Eleventh Doctor documentary in November. Each documentary was then followed up by a broadcast of a story featuring that Doctor, edited into an omnibus format. To date all stories shown have been making their BBC America debut.

Totally Doctor Who was a CBBC television series that aired Friday afternoons in 2006 to 2007 while Series 2 and Series 3 of Doctor Who were ongoing. It was a supplement to (and an advertisement for) those episodes of Doctor Who. Unlike its parent programme, however, Totally was aimed specifically at younger children.

As part of the sixtieth anniversary celebrations of Doctor Who, David Tennant time-travels back through the BBC archives to tell the story of the Doctor’s classic era, with a selection of rarely seen interviews and clips covering William Hartnell’s first incarnation right through to the seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy. 　　On the way, David compares some of his own experiences with the actors who came before him and shares special archive moments that reveal, amongst other things, how to film a regeneration, which actor was a master of modern gadgetry - including a collapsible caravan - and what the factors were that helped to decide how a Doctor selects his own individual and distinctive costume.
