Zhang Zhitao (played by Lu Tongyi) is a shy and clumsy high school boy. Since junior high school, he has been secretly in love with his childhood friend Liu Ruqing (played by Liu Ruitianzhu). He tries every clumsy way to get close to her but never dares to confess directly. The first time, he deliberately changed his high score test paper to a low score, hoping to discuss the questions with Liu Ruqing and get a chance to be alone with her. The second time, he wrote a confession letter with a highlighter, but due to Han Fangzheng's (played by Zheng Zheyu) prank, the letter was altered into insulting words, causing Liu Ruqing to misunderstand him. Liu Ruqing (played by Liu Ruitianzhu) is an outgoing and cheerful girl. Facing Han Fangzheng's provocation, she always dares to fight back. After the misunderstanding, their relationship gradually grew distant, from being less than lovers to drifting apart. After the college entrance examination, Liu Ruqing was preparing to move to another city when she realized that she had misunderstood Zhang Zhitao. Standing on the bridge, Liu Ruqing looked at the distant river and shouted.
