淞沪会战末期，中国军队某重炮营营长陆浩云因“违抗军令”擅自开炮击杀日本亲王伏见宫博义，暴露了阵地目标，令国军的重炮营损失惨重，招致日本特使织田千夏和国民党军统的双重追捕，陷入绝境，被迫逃亡。逃亡过程中，陆浩云结识了伪装成昆曲社演员的共产党员梅映苏，与其相识相知的过程中受到其潜移默化的影响，涅槃重生，自愿加入了中国共产党。继而在梅映苏为代表的共产党的帮助下，在与织田千夏为首的日寇的对弈中，多次出奇制胜，凭借过硬的火炮技能和军事素养，抓住一切机会屡次重创日军，立下赫赫战功。
