该剧根据梦生文化签约作家晓之情调小说《艰难备孕》改编。于静（李奕臻 饰）和顾家辉（唐禹哲 饰）结婚三年始终忙于事业，无暇备孕。婆婆陈桂花（沈羽倩 饰）携外甥女不请自来强势催生，险些将小两口的婚姻推到危险边缘。让人没想到的是这场闹剧的背后其实暗藏着巨大阴谋，最后婆媳二人联手，共斗老谋深算的前公公… 　　该剧以轻喜剧形式有效“降解”令人抓狂的婚姻问题及婆媳矛盾，讲述的是结婚三年忙于事业的于静，由于无暇备孕引发的一系列家庭危机。于静和丈夫顾家辉原本生活甜蜜、事业有成，婆婆却突然不请自来，为她制定KPI强势催生。于静蒙混过关不成，恼羞成怒的婆婆连出奇招，让她的公司陷入混乱，伪“小三”也趁虚而入，一度将她的婚姻推到危险边缘。事业婚姻双双陷入低谷的于静忍无可忍奋起反击，最终成功智斗伪“小三”，揪出搅乱她平静婚姻的幕后黑手。在此过程中，婆婆看到于静的智慧和果敢，于静也看到了“强势”婆婆在大是大非面前毫不含糊的一面。在得知婆婆催生的真实原因后，于静赶回丈夫老家，与婆婆联手，识破前公公的诡计，揭露其恶行。婆媳关系在一系列事件中悄然“升级”。
