Old men are raising girls in the spirit of former Yugoslav people tradition, which is a risky job, because southern Europe is haunted by a gang which does not allow any recollections of the past. The story begins in the moment when ex-reporter starts the action for revitalization of Belgrade, wanting to celebrate 100 years of the revolution. 　　Zilnik is still employing the creative and provactive style that brought him to prominence in the late 1960s. Zilnik is the director that in 1969 beat Midnight Cowboy in Berlin with his first feature film, Rani radovi (Early Works, 1969) and won the Golden Bear. Attacked many times by the grey eminences of the establishment, he remained faithful to his own creative poetry and continued to be very productive, despite the historical changes that occured around him. 　　He was once very popular among Yugoslav liberal audience and directed hits such as Lijepe zene prolaze kroz grad (Pretty Women Walking Through the City, 1985) or Tako se kalio celik (How Steel Was Tempered, 1988). He caught the eye of the critics with his very provocative Dupe od mramora (Marble Ass, 1995) and Kud plovi ovaj brod (Wanderlust, 1998), while films such as Bruklin-Gusinje (Brooklyn-Gusinje, 1988) were an exercise in style. He also made many excellent documentaries and short films, among which are Sedam madarskih balada (Seven Hungarian Ballads, 1978) and Tvrdava Evropa (Fortress Europe, 2000).

Multi millinaire Ezra Ounce wants to start a campain against 'filthy' forms of entertainment, like Broadway-Shows. He comes to his relatives families and makes them members od his morale-boosting campain. But Jimmy, another relative is producing a show, starring Ezra's nice Barbara. But he had bad luck with his backer, this person has give him an invalid check. Another of his victims, the show-girl Mabel has the idea of blackmailing Horace, Barbaras father, whom she has met before in a slightly compromising situation to get the money.

수지의 어머니는 수지를 낳고 죽는다. 그 후 수지의 아버지는 수지를 싫어하게 되었다. 18년 후 구토가 날 정도로 못 생긴 수지는 고등학생 때 친구들에게 왕따를 당하며 살았다. 심지어 그녀는 강간을 당하고 경찰에 신고를 하지만 경찰은 그녀의 못생긴 얼굴을 보고는 거짓말이라며 믿지를 않는다. 그녀의 이쁜 마음을 알아주는 이는 그녀의 옆방 아저씨 김씨 뿐이다. 대학생이 된 수지. 친구의 대타로 나간 미팅에서 그녀는 정수를 만나게 되고 정수를 그녀에게 사귀자고 한다. 그의 말을 믿고 그를 사랑하게된 수지는 정수가 자신을 이용해서 수영이라는 여자의 환심을 사려한 것을 알게 되고 자살을 기도한다. 옥상에서 투신자살을 하려고 몸을 던진 순간 수지를 구한 이가 있다. 바로 김씨이다. 김씨의 신분은 천사이다. 김씨는 수지에게 정액의 축복을 내려 주고 남자의 눈에는 그녀가 이쁘게 보이고 여자의 눈에는 원래의 못 생긴 수지로 보이게하는 축복을 내린다. 단 수지가 생리를 하는 날에는 원래의 수지로 돌아가서 모두에게 추한 수지로 보인다. 남자들이 바라보는 시선이 달라진 걸 안 수지는 달라진 모습으로 정수를 유혹해서 섹스를 하게 된다. 섹스가 끝이 난 후 정수가 샤워를 하는 사이 수지는 수영에게 전화를 걸어서 복수를 하게 된다. 아버지가 숨을 거둔 병원에서 운명적으로 만난 민욱과 수지는 사랑을 하게 되고 결혼을 한다. 신혼여행 첫 날밤 수지의 생리가 시작하는 날이다. 민욱은 수지의 달라진 모습을 보고 수지를 버리고 달아난다. 그리고 수지는 호텔에서 뛰어 내려 자살한다.
