胡万增夫妇是大连市东马屯村的果农，他们种植了三百多棵苹果树，抚养着有精神残疾的女儿和儿子。本片历时一年，跟踪记录了胡万增夫妇从春到冬，种植果树和抚养儿女的真实生活。故事起伏跌宕，既关乎苹果种植的难易丰欠，又关乎一家人的喜怒哀乐。

40年代，少年加伯（Jay Renshaw 饰）爱上了长他几届的学长乔纳森（Ryland Shelton 饰），两人在苹果树下定情，决定相伴终生。哪怕战争瘫痪了加伯的双腿，也不能阻挡他们的爱。然而七十年过去了，当乔纳森不幸因病去世后，加伯不得不搬到养老院，与顽固偏执的同龄人生活在一起，被迫回到柜子中去......短片反映了LGBT老年人面对的困境，也讲述了一段感人至深的同性爱情。
