Tommie is a young guy in Manhattan with a dead-end job handing out fliers in Times Square. At the beginning of a fateful summer, he has a chance encounter with a friend who tells Tommie that he's headed to Provincetown, on the Cape, for a long weekend. Tommie is inspired to make his own trek to P-town, where he goes on a summer long, balls-out quest for Mr. Right, even though he has no money and holds his breath each time he uses his American Express card. In the course of the summer, Tommie looks for a work as a house boy at various inns, works several jobs, benefits from the kindness of a stranger, and gets involved with a series of men. James Toback:" The film idea was generated by conversations Alec and I have had over a long period of time and we decided we'd go to Cannes and shoot a record of our quest to find money to make a movie, which in effect is not a movie we're definitely making, but rather one we will make in the future if we raise the money for it here. This film is about that process, documenting the progress and the potential success or failure of the two of us in a picaresque attempt to obtain the financing of a movie we have a general idea about making."

牛庄的牛老栓养着一头牛叫它“老丫头”当自己的孩子，中秋节快到了，孩子家林借口忙不回去过节了内心有些失落。有一摊带着“老丫头”去锄草，转眼牛不见了，找了好几天都没找着。有庆妈妈靠卖白薯挣钱为生，攒了些钱买了一头牛回来想指望它生小牛，以后养大卖了供儿子上大学用，大王庄张大头二小子来找牛老栓陪他去派出所报案，才发现最近镇上好几个村的都丢了牛，弄得人心惶惶，必须抓经破案，牛老栓因为牛丢了茶饭不思，有天仿佛听到“老丫头”叫唤声，闻讯找到了有庆妈家找到了自己的牛，就给牵走了，被邻居发现了，有庆妈给找来了，双方争执了起来。
