国税局課長補佐・外浦(佐野)の妻・幸枝(金)が自宅で絞殺され、同時刻、外浦の真鶴の別荘で愛人のホステス・玲子(田村翔子)も絞殺される。外浦は幸枝の不倫に腹を立て殺したと自供し、玲子は新しい男ができ、その男に殺されたのだという。定年まで10日の安原刑事(芦田)は、幸枝の相手も、玲子の男も見つからないことに不審を抱き、外浦は玲子も殺しているとにらむ。が、外浦の自宅から真鶴まで100キロもある。安原は外浦の車から真鶴道路の領収書を発見するが、それでは同時刻に幸枝は殺せないというカベに突きあたってしまう…。

源氏鶏太の原作を新藤兼人が脚色した、ドライな味わいのホーム・コメディ。新藤脚本の映画化を多数手掛ける吉村公三郎監督が、大映東京が誇る華やかなキャスト陣の個性を活かしつつ、打算や裏切りの入り混じる男女の恋愛模様を、クールな視点で見つめている。長いサラリーマン生活を終え、定年退職を迎えた男やもめの平太郎（山村）は、上司と不倫中の長女（若尾）ら、嫁入り前の4人の娘と財産を分け合い、第二の人生を歩き出す。

She is joined by a team of women filmmakers. The films begins with this unusual triangle but, interestingly, it grows into something more complex and subtle than a traditional research project. Predictably, questions arise, but so do revelations and almost clandestine moments of beauty and lucidity, along with a persistent sense of uncertainty that ends up becoming a goal in its own right. Thanks to this unexpected approach, Juana Bignozzi appears in this film in all her glory, invincible and very much alive: the film triumphs.

该片讲述了发生在上世纪末一段纠缠在岁月浪潮中的情爱故事。一心想当诗人，改变命运的李五（朱亚文 饰），幸运地遇见连自己气味和影子都痴迷深爱的陈蕙（宋佳 饰），两人因爱而疯魔。一条毛裤，抵不过喧嚣现实地裹挟和撕扯，才华与情感凋零枯萎。爱亦成“毒”，有无解药？

业余诗人李五 （朱亚文饰）和妻子陈蕙 （宋佳饰）生活在二十世纪八九十年代，陈蕙为了帮助李五实现诗人梦想，背后不计代价默默付出，但却遭到世人甚至丈夫的深深误解，两人因此分道扬镳，把对彼此的爱深埋在心中，但现实的残酷却依旧无情地碾压了他们仅存的情感联系。最终，李五意外车祸死亡，给陈蕙留下的只有他的影子和气味 。

影片剧本由亚历杭德罗·冈萨雷斯·伊纳里图与长期合作伙伴尼古拉斯·迦科波恩联合撰写，故事主角是一位著名的墨西哥记者、纪录片制片人，多年之后，他回到祖国，试着真正面对他的身份、家庭关系、愚蠢的个人回忆，以及墨西哥的过往和现状。
