狂潮（Hotel）是香港无线电视翡翠台首出以家族斗争式的为主题的一小时长篇剧集，于1976年11月1日首播，共129集。 　　该剧以巨额投资，特地在一座位于葵涌的工厂大厦租下一万多呎的地方作为拍摄场地，布景制作严谨。另外外景拍摄亦十分认真，常于酒店餐厅作实景现场拍摄。此剧播出后收视率极高。 　　当年丽的电视、佳艺电视等对手开始威胁到香港无线电视的主导地位。香港无线电视翡翠台高层之一的黄筑荺看了一本美国小说《午夜情》(The other side of mid-night)后将情节转述给梁淑怡，梁淑怡将故事改编为一个美国式肥皂剧，着重豪华及煽情，成为了首出一小时长剧。
