1161年，大宋国土幅裂，金主完颜亮侵占中原，并再欲大举南侵。中原百姓不堪严苛压榨，奋起抗金，年方二十一岁的辛弃疾聚集乡众参加了由耿京领导的一支声势浩大的起义军，战功赫然。1162年，力主驱逐侵虏、收复失土、实现统一的辛弃疾，奉命南下说服南宋朝廷北伐，在他完成使命归来，却见主帅耿京被叛徒杀害后义军溃散的乱状。侠义所使、激愤所驱和再凝义军士气所谋，辛弃疾率五十多骑突袭数万人金军大营，生擒叛徒南归，写就一段悲壮的峥嵘历史。

本片讲述时代巨变中一个乡村互助组织缓慢解体的故事。老人会是农民的丧葬互助会，目前广泛存在于湖北省宜昌市夷陵区乡村。这一制度创建于新中国土改时期，它通过换工互助，把众人的力量组织起来，为亡者安排体面的葬礼而花费很少。本片以夷陵区棠垭村“桃子园七八队老人会”操办一次丧事的三天活动为脉络，深描老人会制度面临的挑战，即工业化和城市化吸引农村青壮年劳力离土离乡，动摇老人会的社会基础，外出务工者越来越多地选择商业殡葬，部分老人会解体。

《私人會所》的故事講述家境不佳大學生Milo（馮海銳飾）因好友巧盈（陳美伊飾）炒股失利，結果跟巧盈一起到仿如夜總會運作高級私人會所Balcony工作賺錢，在Joey媽（陳潔玲飾）的帶領下，與菲菲（湯加文飾）與Sabrina（鍾卓菲飾）每晚陪著客人。証券分析員 Steven（李任燊飾）在工作關係由富二代Lucas（麥子樂飾）帶到Balcony，並且認識了莊家倫爺（李凱賢飾）及阿傑（陳詠謙飾）。Stephen首次在Balcony便遇上首天工作的Milo，並且互相發展。考了經紀牌的巧盈則希望能讓陳傑開戶，而Lucas在不得志下卻對Joey媽有感，而倫爺卻對菲菲有其好感。不過在股場之下，卻隱藏著暗湧，影響眾人命運。
