The Living and the Dead Ensemble, an artist collective from Haiti, France and the UK, bring an embodied and contemporary perspective to the history of the only uprising of enslaved peoples that led to the creation of a state. Shot in Haiti and France, through complex conversations and performances, Ouvertures considers ideas around language and translation as well as major themes of colonialism, power, cultural memory, generational trauma, knowledge and resistance.

2012年夏季 テレビ朝日 日剧SP 　　男子高校生の平井桜（中川大志）は、母・純子（斉藤由貴）の再婚話に頭を悩ませていた。純子はすでに2回、結婚に失敗していたのだ。 　　そんな母子のもとに、7年前に別れた純子の前の夫・大庭一郎（眞島秀和）の娘・志保（蓮佛美沙子）がやってくる。離婚する際の大庭の条件は、志保を置いていくこと。純子と桜はやむなく志保を残し、涙ながらに去ったのだった。20歳に成長した志保はイギリスへの留学を決めたといい、旅立つ前に純子と桜に挨拶に来たと話す。 　　6年間だけ家族だった志保との8年ぶりの再会に戸惑い、どう接していいのか悩む桜。だが、そんな桜を尻目に、志保と純子は失った時間を埋めるかのように打ち解けあう。 　　ちょうどその頃、桜の進路面談が行なわれる予定になっていた。しかし、純子は仕事のため出席することができない。そのため、志保が純子の代理として進路面談に出ることになった。 　　桜の夢は教師になることだったが、家計に余裕がないことを知っているため、進学をあきらめていた。純子の再婚相手となる秋野康志(矢柴俊博)は桜の学費を出すと言ってくれているが、桜はそれを拒み続けていた。大庭からの虐待や志保との別れがトラウマとなっていて、秋野を新しい父親として認めることができなかったのだ。桜は進路面談で、就職を希望するつもりだった。 　　しかし、志保は進路面談で桜を進学させると担任教師に告げてしまう。自分の思いどおりにいかず激怒した桜は、志保を激しく罵倒。傷ついた志保は、桜のもとを去っていく。かつて、大庭に虐待されていた桜と志保。同じ痛みを抱える2人の心がすれ違う…。 　　その後、桜は、志保の隠していた現実を知るのだが…!?

For Apichatpong, Thailand, while full of beauty, is slowly collapsing into darkness. 　　“King Kong rarely barked. She had been with us since she was three months old. Every night she slept and looked around in her dreams. 　　We thought that our spirits were enriched by the fertile soil and the greenest leaves and the rarest insects and the abundance of humility. But came a day in March we woke up from our dream. The sky wept ashes. The rotten ground trembled as baby worms rose to taste the gray snow. Across the mountains the light of devotion shone and blinded our souls. The darkness was so bright we wept and shouted in silence. And we woke up again, and again. 　　We united like multiple King Kongs with no sound. Every heartbeat a baby was born with her mouth shut tight like a touch of two stones. With pleasure we lived in hope, and hoped to never wake up. A land of Nothing. We slept. We smiled. We ran."
