山坳溪村的阿生，在竹林救下腿受箭伤的白狐，不顾奶奶 “狐有灵性” 的劝阻，将其藏于柴房照料。白狐伤愈后引阿生至后山老松树下，挖出村中流传的祖传宝藏。可当晚奶奶昏迷不醒，妻子阿花夜里穿旧嫁衣机械起舞，村邻牲口也接连暴毙。村民皆传是阿生触怒狐仙。阿生怀疑曾撞见自己挖宝的发小阿贵，暗中观察发现其往阿花汤里加料、在牲口棚外撒粉。拆穿后阿贵承认，为夺宝藏，他迷晕奶奶、药控阿花、毒杀牲口，伪装狐仙作祟。阿生将宝藏埋回原处，次日奶奶苏醒，白狐现身竹林后离去。溪村恢复平静，阿生也懂了，德行庇佑远胜横财，人心贪念才是真祸。
