十五年前，儿时的宁真亲见父亲被杀现场，母亲也就此失踪，只有他见到一个可疑的陌生男人。 一直相信宁真的刑警队长陆征，接到宁真的报案立刻赶往，及时救下即将被这个可疑男人杀害的李国坤，可疑男人逃脱，被救的李国坤为不让陆征发现刚被自己杀害的妻子，趁其不备将陆征杀害…… 现场不知什么时候出现了一个奇特的符号，此后这个符号被称之为“深渊”。李国坤也成为当年唯一一个见过“深渊”的人。 十五年后，曹进成为刑警队长，陆凡警校毕业，也成为了一名刑警，宁真也从未放弃对父母案件的调查。

讲述了宁真童年时期目睹父亲遇害现场，母亲离奇失踪，刑警队长陆征为查清真相惨遭杀害。现场留下的神秘符号“深渊”，将宁真、陆征的女儿陆凡和徒弟曹进几人的命运紧密相连。多年后，“深渊”再现，连环命案，迷雾重重，仿佛陷入无法逃脱的宿命的故事。
