本作は80年前に満洲で起きた“接待”という名の性暴力の実態、そして敗戦とともに日本に帰るため、敵であるロシア軍に助けを求めた開拓団に迫った作品。戦時下、国策のもとで実施された満蒙開拓によって開拓団は満洲の地に渡ったものの、日本の敗戦が色濃くなる中、突如としてソ連軍が侵攻してくる。守ってくれるはずの関東軍の姿もなく満蒙開拓団は過酷な状況に追い込まれ、集団自決を選択した開拓団もあれば、逃げ続けた末に息絶えた人も多かった。そんな中、岐阜県から渡った黒川開拓団は生きて日本に帰るため、敵であるソ連軍に助けを求めることに。命と引き換えに性接待の相手として差し出されたのは、数えで18歳以上の15人の女性たちだった。帰国後、女性たちを待っていたのは差別と偏見の目。身も心も傷を負った女性たちの声はかき消され、事実が公の場で明かされたのは2013年のことだった。
