影片的开头是一个古典默剧打扮的男子，他带着黑色的帽子，穿着黑白条的衣服，脸上涂的煞白，几乎看不到任何表情。少顷桌子的另一头有个看似警方的人员坐了下来，警员似乎面带疲惫，他提议从头回顾默剧演员之前的遭遇。镜头一转回到大街上，默剧演员牵着一条看不见的狗逛街，在拐角出现些和一名女子撞到。简单交谈后，女子给他留下了电话号码。在此之后，他们的关系进展很快，默剧演员向对方求爱，两人走进浪漫的殿堂。但是再美好的故事都有尽头，他们的关系渐渐恶化，女子仿佛被他传染一样沉迷于默剧，他们的故事一发不可收拾……
