由于父亲工作的缘故，二见望（高城元气 配音）将寄宿至小镇上的阿姨家，并且在那里的“双爱学园”里完成自己初中的课程。关于这个小镇，有一个忧伤又美丽的传说，一对双胞胎姐妹同时爱上了一名年轻男子，由于男子无法做出抉择，悲伤的姐妹两化作小鸟飞翔天际。不知是不是由于这个传说的缘故，小镇上的双胞胎姐妹特别的多。 　　在小镇上，望结识了樱月姐妹琦罗（伊月唯 配音）和希罗（纲挂裕美 配音），一条姐妹薰子（堀江由衣 配音）和菫子（小清水亚美 配音），白钟姐妹双树（门胁舞 配音）和沙罗（水桥香织 配音）等双胞胎姐妹们，她们外表相似但个性迥异的特点吸引了望的注意。同时，在望的记忆中，幼年时曾在这里和一对姐妹许下了约定，他知道，这对姐妹正藏在这些五光十色的女孩子们中间。

二见望是初中三年级学生，年幼时母亲早逝，和父亲两个人生活。父亲因为工作关系要调去夏威夷天文台，望决定寄住在亲戚雏菊阿姨家。 雏菊阿姨所在的小镇，也曾是望小时候和妈妈住过的故乡。重新走在熟悉的街道上，童年的记忆又浮现在了眼前。望想起了小时候常常和望一起玩的双胞胎一条姐妹……“不知道她们现在还住在这里么?” 在恰巧路过便利店的时候，望看见了一对双胞胎姐妹，便想看看是不是一条姐妹，没想到因为看得太专注，第一次出来购物的两位大小姐樱月姐妹便误以为他是坏人，慌乱时不小心丢了钱包。望急忙拣起钱包并准备还给樱月姐妹时，却被店员和樱月的老管家剑持误认为是小偷，还挨了一顿揍。在无法说清楚的情况下，望只好选择了逃跑…… 终于找到了雏菊阿姨的家，没想到雏菊阿姨也有一对可爱的双胞胎女儿露露·拉拉。雏菊一家非常欢迎望。没想到这时一条姐妹薰子·堇子也特意赶来看望，望的心里开始飘飘然起来…… 在参观雏菊阿姨家的庭院时，望发现了‘双子冢’。一条姐妹告诉望，‘双子冢’还有一个哀恋的美丽传说…… 据说因为有了这个‘双子冢’，这个镇上的双胞胎也渐渐变得多了起来…… 翌日，望去‘双爱学园’报道办理了转学手续。

作品的中文名字容易让人理解为《双恋》的第二季作品，但实际上是另一部重新设定的作品。故事以白钟姊妹作女主角，而在前作中出场的其他双胞胎全部作为配角。作品获得第9回日本文化厅媒体艺术祭审查委员会推荐作品。作品中除第一话外，未有出现片头中女角手持武器的场面。而本作的DVD版与电视播放时的顺序有少许不同。

大学中途退学，经营侦探事务所的年轻人。主人公双叶恋太郎生来就在二子魂川。他身边经常会出现美少女助手白钟姐妹。由侦探和助手展开的心动的生活开始，描绘出3人恋爱的模样。

本片是一部清新的同性题材影片，喜欢游泳的男主角偶然间在泳池遇到另一位热爱游泳的男性，两人在泳池内切磋游泳技艺的中不断相互了解，这一天男主角受到对方的信息，面对对方的热情相邀，男主角却显得疑虑重重……

This film, based on a book written by Michael Ende (the German author who also wrote "The Neverending Story") takes place in a fictional, nameless town. The routine, slow-paced life of the townspeople is interrupted with the arrival of Momo, a seemingly orphaned girl without a past who quickly becomes a favorite of all of her neighbors. Among Momo's inexplainable gifts is her power of observation, with which she soon notices that something drastic is happening in the town. All of a sudden, the formerly kind, patient townspeople become obsessed with saving time and money and no longer have time for their friends, especially Momo. Momo soon finds out that those responsible for this are the "Grauen Herren", or the gray men, a group of ghost-like gentlemen who alienate Momo and her friends and are somehow stealing their saved-up time and using it to continue their own existence. After Momo tries to convince her friends of the existence of the gray men, she must flee from the town before she is abducted by the gray men. Momo finds protection in the mysterious home of Meister Hora, an old man who explains what exactly time is and confides in her that he is in control of time. After she realizes what a gift, as opposed to a chore, time is, Momo rushes home and attempts to gather what friends she has left together and convince them of the evil that the gray men are bringing to their quiet town.

With a poetic nod to Fellini, Leonardo Ricagni uses the carnival atmosphere to transport the viewer to a magical place where realism and surrealism live side by side in Uruguay - and what a wonderful place to be. Beautiful fable in the style of Magical Realism. Magical realism manifests most often in a pointed and often ambiguous blurring of reality and fantasy. This film is no exception. It playfully deals with the ability of art and music, fantasy and fiction, to represent and alter reality. What is artistically and emotionally effective is the key. If you'd like, at the end, wipe off the expired tears and consolidate the smiles and cast back in your head for clues and indications of reality or unreality. Your conclusions will depend on your worldly perspective, your tastes, and the accuracy of your perceptions. This film, like all others, is open to personal and multiple interpretation. Its ambiguity is irrelevant to its aesthetic, its appeal, and its purpose. It is an observation on Uruguayan poverty and nation and a statement about youth, dreams, and education. Gorgeously told, styled, and filmed, this movie is very much worth a view or two.
