萧春雷是一家补品店的老板，他与前妻的女儿身患尿毒症急需他的帮助。他的现任妻子柳悦知道此事后心中忐忑不安，担心萧春雷和前妻旧情复燃，加之工作压力致使精神错乱。被带进了她前夫梁海潮工作的精神病院救治。梁海潮一直对前妻柳悦念念不忘，于是心生怜惜，和为做科学调研混进精神病院乔装成精神病患者的大学教授陈聪明一起，设计将柳悦救出。 　　二人因此又发生了微妙的情感，梁海潮想与柳悦复婚，可是柳悦因还跟萧春雷有婚姻关系没有直接答应，使得梁海潮更加记恨萧春雷。他指使柳悦在萧春雷的补汤里下了兴奋剂，药效发作后萧春雷作被当作神经病送进精神病院。身处精神病院的萧春雷一直表明自己没病，但没人相信，后来此事的原委被陈聪明得知，于是决定帮助他，最终使萧春雷成功逃出医院，见到了自己的女儿。 　　柳悦得知后抑郁症再次发作，在家中自杀…… 　　梁海潮阴谋败露神经错乱，反被关进了精神病院。
