We see him at his job, a dedicated prisoner to his monotonous machine; travelling home on the underground, where only a drunk will talk to him; walking home to the shabby room he shares with other Turkish workers, and where he ocasionally writes letters home and regularly counts his money. The determined austerity has an almost mesmeric effect; and seems almost too calculated until one begins to feel the enervating isolation of these mortgaged lives. 大哥丁大江是个有担当的男人，他为同母异父的弟弟海涛交过很多次罚单，为了妹妹曾拿酒瓶往头上砸。当得知母亲患了尿毒症后他卖车卖房为她治病，并决定自己捐肾救母，他一直为家人撑起着一片天。在大哥的行为感召下，弟弟海涛变化很大，他为了抢着捐肾救母而将大哥绑起来，虽然最后母亲也只多活了一年多，但没有人会为此后悔。一家人从此更幸福地生活着。
