    《FOLKLORE》是一部共6集(每集1小时)的恐怖影集,每1集的故事素材源于亚洲各地区不同的迷信及传说,包括印度尼西亚、日本、韩国、马来西亚、新加坡和泰国。   印尼篇:单亲妈妈和儿子在阁楼里发现一群脏兮兮又营养不良的小孩。为了拯救这些孩子,她无意间触怒了这群孩子的养母格姆贝儿,并引起一连串的报复行动。   泰国篇:一名记者遇见泰国幽灵波欧,波欧坦承谋杀案与自己有关。波欧找到抱怨的对象,并解释了谋杀案的经过,同时要求这名记者发表他的故事,但却被拒绝。两人于是立下终身的协议。   新加坡篇:当工头和建筑工人试图埋葬一名女孩尸体而不是焚烧她时,庞蒂雅娜(因难产而亡的女性鬼魂)被唤醒了。施工现场开始发生一连串不幸事件。   日本篇:专门描写凶案现场的作家回到家乡参加爸爸的丧礼,脑海里因而浮现出童年的画面。随后他在家里发现一道秘门,门后的居室竟藏着家族过往的可怕秘密。   韩国篇:一位母亲试图安抚她患有精神病的儿子。镇上新来了一个女生,很快的深深迷恋上她,并决心违背母亲的意愿以赢得她的芳心。当事情发生悲剧性转折时,他的母亲会不择手段地让她的儿子高兴,即使这代表要为他的来生找到一名新娘。   马来西亚篇:渔镇议员雇用一名神秘的萨满女巫士设法解决问题,以解决经济困境。女子帮他解决了所有的问题,两人也随即发展出恋情。然而这名女子却有着足以摧毁他人生的黑暗秘密。

    1918年,在俄国革命影响下的蒙古。蒙古牧民贝尔带着珍贵的貂皮前往被英国干涉军队和白俄占据的要塞市场出售。商人强行低价收购他的貂皮。他不堪屈辱,愤而与商人发生冲突,最后逃往大漠。他加入游击队抗击白俄军队,不幸被捕。就在执行枪决时,他被发现是成吉思汗的后裔,被解救并被扶植成傀儡。白俄和英国干涉军想借他之手更好地统治蒙古。具有强烈民族自尊感的贝尔却毅然走上了反抗异族奴役与压迫的道路。他以成吉思汗子孙的名义,率领蒙古的各游牧民族,以风扫残云之势,驱逐了异族侵略者。   本片是前苏联著名电影导演普多夫金在西方世界博得最高赞誉的一部杰作。与爱森斯坦相反,普多夫金以一个主人公为中心来展开描写,生动地刻画了贝尔这位思想觉悟的蒙古牧民形象。影片具有浓厚的人种学色彩,逼真地再现了蒙古游牧民族的生活和喇嘛寺院举行佛事的盛大景况。全片有完整的叙事结构,是一部雄伟的巨著。它以貂皮这个不起眼的细节逐步引发出惊天动地的大事件,剧情的张力依据一步一步强化的加速度,推进、堆积到一个点而予以总爆发。片尾荒原上骤起的风具有排山倒海之势,把侵略者吹得溃不成军,充分象征了被压迫民族不甘屈服、抗击强暴的伟大力量。这一震撼人心的高潮场面已成为经典而载入电影史册。
