Edited screen tests of Parajanov's unfinished film. On the twentieth anniversary of the liberation of Kiev from the Nazis, a film director pays a stevedore to deliver a bunch of flowers to a general. By accident the director gives the wrong address and the stevedore delivers the flowers to a war widow who is currently working at an art museum.

While searching the archives for his found footage film Babi Yar. Context (2021), Ukrainian director Sergei Loznitsa stumbled upon unique but forgotten film material of a criminal trial in Kiev in January 1946. In this prelude to the Nuremberg trials, 15 Nazis and Nazi sympathizers stood trial for crimes against humanity. 　　As in his previous films, Loznitsa presents the material without commentary, and uses short intertitles to inform the viewer of the necessary facts. These harrowing texts describe the mass slaughter of civilians (including women, children and the elderly) in places such as Melitopol, Kodra and Raska. Also addressed is the bloodbath at Babi Yar, where 33,000 Jewish people were shot dead by the Nazis. 　　The testimonies of witnesses and perpetrators are bone-chilling. Marking the 70th anniversary of the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, historian Professor David Reynolds re-assesses Stalin's role in the life and death struggle between Germany and Russia in World War Two, which, he argues, was ultimately more critical for British survival than 'Our Finest Hour' in the Battle of Britain itself. 　　The name Stalin means 'man of steel', but Reynolds's penetrating new account reveals how the reality of Stalin's war in 1941 did not live up to that name. Travelling to Russian battlefield locations, he charts how Russia was almost annihilated within a few months as Stalin lurched from crisis to crisis, coming close to a nervous breakdown. 　　Reynolds shows how Stalin learnt to compromise in order to win, listening to his generals and downplaying communist ideology to appeal instead to the Russian people's nationalist fighting spirit. He also squares up to the terrible moral dilemma at the heart of World War Two. Using original telegrams and official documents, he looks afresh at Winston Churchill's controversial visit to Moscow in 1942 and re-examines how Britain and America were drawn into alliance with Stalin, a dictator almost as murderous as the Nazi enemy.

The documentary will feature highly emotional and real time footage, capturing the mobilization efforts of Sherpas and rescuers as they rushed to search for survivors. Through eyewitness accounts, viewers will hear from those who experienced this horrible tragedy and aftermath including sit down interviews with Joby Ogwyn; Expedition Leader Garrett Madison, who played a critical role in the recovery; Todd Burleson, president of Alpine Ascents International who lost five Sherpas; and other key members of the expedition and production teams. 　　A total of 13 people were crushed to death underneath a fearsome Mount Everest avalanche– the worst single catastrophe in the iconic mountain’s history. 　　The victims were all guides – ethnic Sherpas – who were helping climbers set up ropes and other safety measures when the snow rumbled down onto the popular climbing path.
